Dealing with Harassment and Abuse

Lesson 1: Are you passive, assertive or aggressive?

In the first lesson, teachers should deliver this multimedia presentation on passive, assertive and aggressive behaviours, which provides students with some key definitions and then guides them through a questionnaire which assesses how far they are passive, assertive or aggressive.

Lesson 2: Handling Abuse

In this activity, students are presented with a range of scenarios. They use these to consider what abuse has taken place, and what the best reaction should be to deal with it.

Lesson 3: What is online harassment? | Activity Cards

In this activity, students are presented with a range of scenarios. These can be divided between different members of the class to consider and then discuss in groups or as a whole-class exercise.

Lesson 4: Reporting Online or Sexual Harassment | Comic Strip Scenario

This activity reinforces the points from Lesson [2] but with a particular focus on online and sexual forms of harassment and the importance of reporting the situation.
